Lecturer in Law
Ethel Badawi is co-founder and principal of Pollack Badawi Group, a boutique legal search consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. Ethel has dedicated her professional life to helping individuals find legal careers that inspire joy and growth. As a legal recruiter, Ethel partners with AmLaw 200 law firms to identify and recruit talent. She has advised over 500 university graduates, paralegals, recent law graduates and attorneys in strategic decision-making to advance their careers and find their professional home at law firms, businesses and government.
Before launching her own firm, Ethel served as the associate director for the George Washington University Law School’s career center and as assistant director of the Paralegal Studies program at GW. Ethel continues to serve as a faculty member for GW’s graduate program in Paralegal Studies where she teaches Advanced Legal Writing and American Jurisprudence.
Ethel is a frequent presenter and speaker at national conferences on the legal job market and professional development for legal professionals. She has held leadership roles at the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA) and the American Association for Paralegal Educators (AAfPE). Ethel has a B.A. in Spanish and Economics from Wellesley College and a J.D. from the George Washington University. She is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Indiana and Virginia.
